Transmission Line Simulation

Our goal is to simulate the transmission line as shown in the figure below.



The Transmission Line has characteristic impedance of 50 Ohm and delay of 400 ns. Since the driver and the termination resistance do not match the transmission line there will be reflection. We wish to observe the signal at the receiver R2.

Here are the steps required to create and run the simulation

1. Place the resitors R1 and R2 as shown in the figure and assign them a value of 25 Ohms.
2. For voltage source look for VPULSE in the library called SOURCE. Assign the parameters of the voltage source as shown in figure above.
3. Add Tranmission Line. The Transmission line is in library called Analog and comes by name T. Assign its parameters as shown in circuit above.
4. Click PSpice -> New Simulation Profile. Give it a name. In the Analysis Type select - "Time Domain".
Run the simulation and check the voltage waveforms.
