Allegro PCB Design Tutorial

Creating Internal Cut Out

Many times you are required to create an internal cutout in Allegro. The cutout may have to be irregular. Creating cutout is very simple. All you have to do is create a board outline inside the external cutout. But you have to be careful about few things.

- You may like to add arcs at the corners in the cutout area. In actual manufacturing the cut out is created using real drill kind of thing so creating a round corner helps manufacturing.

- You must make the area inside the cutout to be out of the keepout area. In fact it is better if the keepout area is about 15 mils or more greater the cut out out area.

Make sure you do not inadvertantly placed some components inside the Keepout area.

Here is the youtube explaining the whole thing.
